Lola Falana was an American actress, singer, and dancer who appeared in Playboy magazine's October 1970 issue. She was the first black woman to be featured on the cover of Playboy and her photos were taken by photographer Pompeo Posar. The pictorial was titled "Las Vegas Showgirl" and featured Falana in various outfits and poses. The issue was a best-seller for Playboy and helped to launch Falana's career as a sex symbol and entertainer. Falana went on to star in films and television shows, as well as perform on the Las Vegas circuit.
